This scene would
make a lovely setting
for a wedding. I can
envision the bride
and groom
surrounded by lovely
flowers facing the
camera while saying
their vows. The only
problem is that they
would have to wear
grip-lock shoes. This
is a very steep terrain.
Saturday, September 08, 2007
was a beautiful day in the south.
My partner and I had cabin fever
so we decided to hit the trails.
Our original destination was
Lake Seminole, Florida. We were
planning to find the road that
followed the Chattahoochee
River. As usual, my trusty
navigator veered off-track and
we ended up at Three Rivers
Recreation Area. What a lovely
diversion!

Named appropriately, this body
of water encompasses three
rivers, the Chattahoochee, Flint
and the Apalachicola River.

history, geography, and
attractions at:

I was trying to zoom
in on the bird in this
picture (I think it might
be a heron) sitting so
regally on a log in the
water. If you look real
close you can see it
in the right-hand
corner. I picked up
something in my view
finder that looked like
a snake cascading
down from the tree I
was standing
underneath. Kept a
careful eye out for a
few minutes to make
sure it wasn't. If the
wind had moved it
any, I can assure you I
wouldn't have gotten
this picture.

This picture of the
bird was taken by
zooming in, and still
is not a real clear
picture.  You can see
Ron in the picture to
the left trying to adjust
his zoom. We're still
experimenting with
the focus.

The other two
pictures to the left
show an old grocery
store we passed by
on the way to the
park. With a name
like Two Egg,
Florida, we couldn't
resist  including them
for good measure of
a pleasant outing.
Ron is playing with the spiders again.
Download the picture and zoom in for
a close-up.
